Top 5 arts and crafts ideas for kids at home

Crafting is just a simple and easy way to keep the kids entertained. Here’s a little secret - it won’t cost you a bomb to keep them busy indoors and warm from the winter cold.

  1. Crafting with paper plates is frugal and it is a wonderful crafting material because there are a million ideas you could turn into artwork with them. Buy paper plates, glue, paint, and some googly eyes and let the kiddos serve up plates of creativity all day long.
  2. Origami paper is so easy to get in stores and it will encourage kids to develop fine motor skills and patience while having lots of fun. Origami bookmarks are so cute to see and of course just as easy to make. All you need to get are colourful origami papers, colourful markers and glue sticks for this fun arts and craft session at home.
  3. Don’t bin your paper kitchen towel rolls! Reusing them for arts and crafts for the kids is not only sustainable but also a fantastic material for creating magic at home. You could purchase crafting rolls in craft shops if you don’t have enough, grab some paint, brushes and encourage them to create anything they want.
  4. Rocks are easily available and are an easy material to use for crafting. Get yourself a bunch of sterile pebbles, rocks. Equipped the kids with colourful paint and brushes to let that creativity flow while you get on with the house chores.
  5. Old keys should not be thrown away and get the kids to turn them into windchimes for the yard or garden! Collect old keys, a twig, buy some pastel-coloured paint and strings for these easy and simple projects. Paint the keys in multiple colours and hang them on the twig with strings. They would absolutely enjoy seeing their artwork hanging at home.
